My Favorite picture

This is the first one that comes to mind. I haven't scrapped it yet, because nothing seems to "fit it" right.

I love it because it was the first time all three were together in a picture (other than the ultrasound pics) and I just remember being so excited that they were getting healthy enough we were able to move them enough to get them next to each other even if just for a minute to get a picture. It felt so real at this moment when they were finally all three boys side by side, it was when my heart opened wide and so much maternal instinct that was scared to come out, finally just opened and got ready to be their mom.

Handy men

Credits here

Journaling reads:
I have always loved that your dad is handy. On cars, plumbing, electrical, or just basic things around the house - he knows how to fix it. You boys love to help your Daddy when he is fixing things. You are immediately drawn to what ever project he has going, whether it being tightening up the screws on a chair or putting your gate up on the wall. I am so glad you are inheriting your Daddy’s handy skills.

Good Gurl

Journaling reads:
Luke, you have become really attached to Belle. In the morning when you lie on my bed, you eventually roll your way over to the bottom of the bed to pet and love on her. Lately you like to try to make Belle do tricks that she does for Daddy and I. Your favorite one seems to be telling her you "can't reach" something so she will bring it right to you. After she performs her tricks for you, you always turn to me to share it and end with, "Belle a good gurl" and pat her head. She is your buddy, that Belle-girl.

My heart beats faster when you are near. You are such an animal lover. The sound of your breathing is like a lullaby at night. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better father for my children. You are so good at fixing things. I like how you stick up for the underdogs. You know what I am thinking without me speaking a word. Your hands feel so strong when you rub my back. I love the way your laughter can fill a room. I know I am so blessed to have a husband like you.

My 3 Little Monkeys

Credits here

Journaling reads:
The day this was taken was one of the first times your Dad and I took you out for the day. We went to an art walk and so many people stopped us to comment on how full our hands were. Once it was time to eat, your Dad ran to the car to get bottles while I laid you out on the grass to let you stretch your little bodies.

Being it was one of my first times alone with you out in the public eye like that, I was so nervous. What if you started getting hungry before your dad got back? What if you guys started crying all at once? But none of that happened. You were content to lie on the grass and explore. I was so proud of my little monkeys for helping their Momma look like she had it totally under control.

Journaling reads:

May 2008

Even though your brothers are always around, you tend to go in your own direction and do your own thing.

You don’t seem to need approval for what you do, although you love when your Dad and I join you in what ever you are trying to tackle.

Your mind amazes me. You can put things together in your head and usually do a good job of figuring out what you want by yourself.

You are so cool. Even though you have no idea what that means yet, you are. You like skateboards, drums, guitars and jump fearlessly from high places.

You are my “Cool little Luke”

Your Nana is such a huge part of your life. You love to see her, whether it is on the weekends at her house or during her usual Tuesday and Thursday morning visits. You love seeing her walk through the door and usually forget about anything else you were doing before hand. She takes you for walks and blows bubbles with you outside. She sings songs and does silly dances just to make you smile. When you are sick she comes over to comfort you and when you are happy she loves to laugh with you. You are so blessed to have such a great Nana.

Luke: Bye Nana..... Nan!

Mom Tell Nana bye-bye
Luke: Bye Nan
Nana: Bye sweetheart
Luke: Bye. Hey Nana!
Nana: Yes, Luke

Together Again

Credits here

These pictures are so meaningful to me. They were taken the day Lucas was released from the hospital and able to come home with us. Your Dad and I brought you boys over to Nana and Pops' house and laid you down on a blanket so you could get reacquainted. We were so happy and excited; I kept calling up to Nana to tell her to come watch you. I have to admit, you guys weren't doing anything very exciting to watch, just lying there and looking around. But to your Dad and I- it was the most exciting, beautiful sight we had ever seen. Our three little babies finally home, finally together again.

December 25th

Credits: Everything from the kit "Twas the night" by Shabby Princess

Journaling reads:
Christmas day was so much fun! After meeting Reagan and her family for breakfast, we headed over to Nana and Pops to open our presents. The boys got the neatest toys - little remote control bus, garbage truck and fire truck, Caterpillar trucks that beep and talk, and a fun traffic light. Lucas liked to hang out with Pops and help him put toys together while Jaxon would pair up with Aunt Leigha, Daddy or Bruiser for a few minutes at a time. Wyatt liked to take his time opening the presents, making sure every bit of paper was off before he would look to see what was inside.

It was wonderful seeing the boys get excited about their new toys or listening to them laugh when they would try to tear into the wrapping paper. So much fun and laughter -just how a family Christmas is meant to be.

Journaling reads:
Christmas Eve we went to Nana & Pops to celebrate the holiday with family and friends. Everyone from Gram Robinson, Uncle Ray’s family to little Reagan was there, along with the Smith’s and of course, Nana, Pops, Leigha and TJ. You boys loved playing with Mallory, keeping her busy chasing you through out the house. Your Dad and I have celebrated most holidays with all these people since before we were married, and it meant so much to add you three boys to the mix.

Wyatt's Trucks

Credits here

Journaling reads:
Hey buddy, I know it is probably not easy to have two brothers the same age as yourself. They always want the same toys or harass you for the ones you are playing with. Since we saw how frustrating this was for you, we let you claim two trucks as your own. The yellow “cobbage” truck and the “whoo whoo” (ambulance). You do not have to share these trucks and Luke and Jax have given up even trying to get them. The trucks have become your security blanket and you never let them go. Whether you are sleeping, sledding, eating or playing outside, we get your message loud and clear.
The trucks are coming too!

We went to the Gift of Lights and you boys were mesmerized. Slowly we drove through the park hearing little “wow”s coming from the backseat. The light show lasted about 15 minutes and still you were asking for more when it was over. It is so neat to see things like this through your eyes.

Your Dad was excited to get our Christmas decorations up for you. Even though he is not a big fan of ladders, he spent well over 3 hours painstakingly putting up all the different lights and decorations. I think he did a beautiful job!

Dreams of Time

Journaling reads: One day I came across this picture and wondered where the time went. Everyday since you came home from the hospital, we have spent at least 12 hours a day together - yet somehow I feel I’ve missed most of your babyhood. There was so much to be done in those early days that I forgot to take the time to memorize what it felt like to rub your little fuzzy heads, smell your fresh clean baby smell, or even memorize your toothless grins. I am so thankful for all the pictures I have to remind me, but I really dream of taking the time NOW to watch and capture all these precious moments while they are happening.

Dinner Manners

Credits here

Journaling reads:
I know that sometimes allowing you boys to eat with your foot on the table or letting you transport your carrots in trucks or helicopters is not exactly teaching you great table manners. It makes me smile to see your imagination show even when you are eating lunch. I enjoy the fact that you are just so into your food that you're oblivious to your foot resting beside the plate. You are only two for such a little while, and soon enough time will come to teach you proper manners. But for now, I'll cherish these moments at our table with my boys behaving like little boys.

I can't believe you are walking down the stairs like big kids. When did you grow big enough to do this?

It seems like only last week you were getting frustrated because the railing was too high for you to reach and you'd have to lay on your belly and scootch your way down stairs -one step at a time.

My boys are growing and little things like this make me realize how quickly it is happening.

Fourth of July

Credits here

Journaling reads:
For as long as your Dad and I can remember, we have celebrated the Fourth of July with the people in Nana’s and Pop’s neighborhood. They are people we have known and enjoyed since before you were born. This year the celebration was at the Smith’s house. They had lots of great BBQ and everyone couldn’t believe how big you all had gotten since they had last seen you.
Lucas and Wyatt loved all the lights and sounds! They would look up and ooh and ahh with us when the big fireworks lit up the sky. Jaxon stayed with Nana inside, preferring to not be so close to all the noise. Your Dad and I loved watching the whole night through your eyes!

Defiant

Credits here

Journaling reads:
You really wanted to bring the cup of water out to the sand box. It didn’t matter to you that there had already been lots of water poured in and the sand was looking wet and mucky.

When I asked you not to pour more water into the sandbox, you looked up at me with this little expression on your face. It is obvious you are not thrilled with being told “no”, but your eyes show the struggle of wanting to do what you want -even though you were told not to. It was a split second of defiance.

After this picture was taken, I brought you over to another part of the yard and made it your new water dumping area. You were content with that -and it was like nothing ever happened.

But I am so glad I got a picture of this face.

You guys LOVE Cathryn! When we were at the park, it seemed every time I turned around, another one of you were crawling all over her. Who am I?

Credits here

Who am I? was done for the scrapbooking class I am taking. This was a hard page to do, just because I don't generally think just about me and what I am about. It is all true, but I know I skimmed by and didn't really write anything meaningful. Partly because I wanted to get it done before I went to bed and partly because I had hard a rushed day and don't want to dwell on things I am feeling right now.

Journaling reads:
I am a wife and Mother. Daughter and a sister. Cook, maid, and laundromat all in one. Listener of problems and giver of advice. Romance novels are a favorite pastime of mine. Bubble bath lover. A bit high maintenance, but a loyal friend to the end. Bargain hunter and handy with home projects indoors and out. Crafty and always looking to try something new. I love pretty things and hate complications. A bit afraid to step out of the box and fail.

Water

Credits here

The journaling reads:
Your Daddy has introduced you boys to drinking out of the water hose. Even though when your little hands try to turn the hose towards yourself and water pours down your shirts, soaking through to your little tummies, you love to hold the hose and drink out of it.

It is the cutest thing to watch when the big "that is COLD" gasp comes out and your blue eyes get so wide. But only a few seconds later the shock wears off and you are all running back to try it again. June 2007

Chalk Artist

Credits here

The journaling reads:
Every time we go outside you race over to the chalk, grabbing as many pieces as your little hands can hold. You've drawn hundreds of little lines on the wall that seems to be your constant work in progress.

I Treasure...

I am thinking of starting a little section for our trip last year to Lake Erie. We had so much fun and so many wonderful memories were made with family we don't see nearly enough. Definitely a time worth a many pages.

County Fair

Credits here

Journaling reads: We were so excited to take you to the county fair! You are so into farm animals and the Old Mac Donald song. This was the first time you could see sheep, pigs, horses, cows, and chicks in person. Walking past the roosters, all three of you loudly cock-a-doodled along with them. Your Dad and I had so much fun watching you explore a new world!

Nana's Page

Credits here

I've had this printed and framed for my Mom as a Mother's day present. She has been an amazing help in the past two years and the boys treasure her like you wouldn't believe. She is a wonderful Nana and the boys and I are blessed to have her be a regular part of our lives.

Little Boys

Credits here

On Easter Sunday, we had to leave church because the boys just had way too much energy to sit it out for an hour or so. Don and I took them to a park to give them a chance to run it out before they would have to sit again for brunch. They loved being at a new park and just tried all the new slides and steps.

Water Fun!

Don brought out a glass of water to drink while he was watching the boys play. Instantly, all three of them surrounded Don and took turns drinking and playing in his glass of water.

The journaling reads:
This song came on the television the other day while we were playing in the living room. Instantly I thought of your smile. Such a joyful and pure smile, that really does LET the SUNSHINE in my heart.
I love you Jaxon!

For almost two weeks your cousins Michael, Matthew and Cathryn were in town. We spent two days at the park with them. It was so much fun watching the 6 of you playing and running around together. Cousins are the best!

Watching my Boys Play

These pictures were taken the other day while Don was playing around with the boys. Don will start out crawling after one boy and then somehow end up on the floor with two or three boys on top of him. The boys love playing chase and running over to throw themselves on top of their dad when they are all pooped out. It is awesome to watch, and even better to hear the giggles.

There's nothing I love more than watching my boys play.

Baby Don't Cry

Wyatt has the cutest little cry face I have ever seen. His little heart is right out there when he gets upset. The boys are growing so fast and there's so much I am afraid I'm going to forget. So, as sad as it is, we made him cry in order to get these pictures and forever be able to remember this sweet face. Don't worry though, we gave the cell phone right back to him only 10 seconds after we took it away.

My Little Wyatt,
You get so upset when we take Daddy's cell phone away. You like to hold it up on your shoulder and walk around with it like a little businessman. Even when you cry, you have such a sweet face.

Prayers Answered

I am going to try to go back to the beginning of the boys life, and work my up from their past. So where better to start then in utero? Obviously, this picture means so much to me. It symbolizes the end of our six year journey of trying to have our family and the beginning of much happiness.

Luke, once you saw your daddy's shoes sitting there, you just had to put them on. It took a little while, but you were determined to FILL THEM UP!

My First Post

I have always thought of joining the world of scrapbooking, but have been overwhelmed just looking at the HUGE amount of things needed to buy to get started. Recently, I came across Twin Girls blog and noticed she had neat frames around pictures of her girls. When I asked her about it, she told me about digital scrapbooking. Ahhh, digital scrapbooking! Why didn't I think of that before? I googled it and have been immersed in it since.
Here is my first saved page. I actually did one very similar to this the other day, but forgot to save, and of course that was the first time my computer froze in MONTHS!
