Just a Swinging
Credits here

Journaling reads:
On a cool January afternoon, it was clear you needed a change of scenery. Since we were at Nana and Pops, your dad and I took you to a playground not too far from their house. You were so little we could fit two of you in a swing!

Handy men
Credits here

Journaling reads:
I have always loved that your dad is handy. On cars, plumbing, electrical, or just basic things around the house - he knows how to fix it. You boys love to help your Daddy when he is fixing things. You are immediately drawn to what ever project he has going, whether it being tightening up the screws on a chair or putting your gate up on the wall. I am so glad you are inheriting your Daddy’s handy skills.

Good Gurl
Credits here

Journaling reads:
Luke, you have become really attached to Belle. In the morning when you lie on my bed, you eventually roll your way over to the bottom of the bed to pet and love on her. Lately you like to try to make Belle do tricks that she does for Daddy and I. Your favorite one seems to be telling her you "can't reach" something so she will bring it right to you. After she performs her tricks for you, you always turn to me to share it and end with, "Belle a good gurl" and pat her head. She is your buddy, that Belle-girl.

Love you because..
Credits here

Journaling reads:
My heart beats faster when you are near. You are such an animal lover. The sound of your breathing is like a lullaby at night. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better father for my children. You are so good at fixing things. I like how you stick up for the underdogs. You know what I am thinking without me speaking a word. Your hands feel so strong when you rub my back. I love the way your laughter can fill a room. I know I am so blessed to have a husband like you.

My 3 Little Monkeys
Credits here

Journaling reads:
The day this was taken was one of the first times your Dad and I took you out for the day. We went to an art walk and so many people stopped us to comment on how full our hands were. Once it was time to eat, your Dad ran to the car to get bottles while I laid you out on the grass to let you stretch your little bodies.
Being it was one of my first times alone with you out in the public eye like that, I was so nervous. What if you started getting hungry before your dad got back? What if you guys started crying all at once? But none of that happened. You were content to lie on the grass and explore. I was so proud of my little monkeys for helping their Momma look like she had it totally under control.

Journaling reads:
You were finally home from your long stay at the hospital.
Even though you had gotten baths before, this was your first bath at home.

A Rare Picture
Credits here

Journaling reads:
You have been married for over 20 years, and it is still rare to get a picture of the two of you together.
This was taken at the boys third birthday bbq. Lots of family and friends celebrating and we were all having such a fun time. Such good memories and such a great picture.

Journaling reads:
May 2008
Even though your brothers are always around, you tend to go in your own direction and do your own thing.
You don’t seem to need approval for what you do, although you love when your Dad and I join you in what ever you are trying to tackle.
Your mind amazes me. You can put things together in your head and usually do a good job of figuring out what you want by yourself.
You are so cool. Even though you have no idea what that means yet, you are. You like skateboards, drums, guitars and jump fearlessly from high places.
You are my “Cool little Luke”

Day at the Beach
Credits here and here

Journaling reads:
On the very last day of our vacation, the sun was finally out long enough for us to play at the beach. You guys loved digging in the sand and playing in the water or walking on the beach and lying down on a towel with Nana. It didn’t bother you that the water was cold; you enjoyed every minute of playing in it.

Turning Three
Credits here

Journaling reads:
This morning you woke up a whole year older. The days have gone by so slowly, but it seems too soon for you to be three already. I can already tell this will be the most challenging year yet, already struggling with wanting to do everything “your” way. However, I know there is a lot of fun to come and so many new things for you to discover. So three, get ready, because here we come!

Nana and her boys
Credits here

Journaling reads:
Your Nana is such a huge part of your life. You love to see her, whether it is on the weekends at her house or during her usual Tuesday and Thursday morning visits. You love seeing her walk through the door and usually forget about anything else you were doing before hand. She takes you for walks and blows bubbles with you outside. She sings songs and does silly dances just to make you smile. When you are sick she comes over to comfort you and when you are happy she loves to laugh with you. You are so blessed to have such a great Nana.

Luke's Long Goodbye
Credits here

Journaling Reads:
Anytime you see us on the phone you run to the land line phone in our bedroom. It is huge compared with your little head, but you just can’t enough of it. The other day when you were talking on the phone with your Nana, you were trying in your own almost three year old way to stall. Anything to stay on that big phone.
Luke: Bye Nana..... Nan!
-pressing buttons on the phone)
Mom Tell Nana bye-bye
Luke: Bye Nan
Nana: Bye sweetheart
Luke: Bye. Hey Nana!
Nana: Yes, Luke
Luke: Nan, Nan, NAN!
Mom: Tell Nana bye-bye
Nana: Bye Lucas
Luke: Hey, Nan, Nan! ......
